I have to say from the start that I liked this performance, mostly because of their choice of music. “Les Mis” is my favorite all-time musical. I've found that the story "informs" my life unlike anything else in literature. As a result, I’m a bit biased. I wonder, though, if the reason they didn’t do better was beyond the fact that they’re so new to the field. (Skate Canada was only their second senior competition.) They skate “mirrored,” which is a little odd looking to me, so I wonder what the judges think about it. That also makes me wonder why they decided to skate that way. As the commentators said, it’s harder; it certainly looks that way.
