Speaking of OCD, anonymous has commented on it and Mandel in a combox. When ya come back, dude, tell your friends!
Anyway, here are a few articles about OCD:

Even the little bit I know about OCD (I've never treated a client with it, but I've had a couple of friends with it), it's obvious that folks like Mandel are exceedingly brave to even venture out into the world. My new friend anonymous has said the same thing. Anonymous, perhaps you can tell me--Is it inappropriate to express my admiration to Howie if I were to ever meet him? Or would it be distressing to him, as a person with the disorder? I'm asking because I have a difference of opinion with my husband about it.
To get an even better idea about OCD, I highly recommend watching "Monk." What a great show. Tony Shalhoub is marvelous. I can't wait until it comes back in January.

In spite of the fact that there's no picture of Howie with this post, I will reply ; ) Howie loves to be the center of attention and loves being beloved by the masses, so go for it. He's very open about his OCD, although I know he doesn't think its the most interersting thing about himself. I think I'd follow it up with what a sharp dresser he is or something ; ) If you meet him and don't take me along, however, we might have a problem ; ) I haven't had a chance to read the rest of your blog yet, but its at the top of my list of things to do when I'm supposed to be working, so its coming! Here's a hint for you though if you want more readers...just make favorable posts about Clay Aiken and when Clay's fans get the google alerts with his name in them they will check out your blog in droves and leave lots of comments. They love anyone who speaks well of Clay, and there's a lot to admire about him even if you aren't a fan of his music, which I am. I see that you have 2 disabled children. Did you know that this 28-year-old man has a charitable organization, Bubel/Aiken, dedicated to creating awareness and opportunities for full inclusion for children with special needs? Clay is also on the President's Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities. He also has a very strong Baptist faith. I see that you are Catholic, but I think all very spirtual people have a connection. Anyway, its a thought. I found you through my Howie Mandel google alerts. I also get them for Clay, although I am not a Claymate, but I've seen the Claymates RUN not walk to see what's being said about Clay. There, unfortunately, might also be meanies because some people pick on that guy like its their job, so don't say I didn't warn you!
