Ten days since my last blog entry. Of course, I've been busy. That's always a good excuse for me. Also, I haven't felt particularly inspired to come here. We went away for Thanksgiving, then our internet connection went down for a few days due to the weather. I suppose that I got out of the routine of blogging, even about the figure skating season that's going strong. I hope to post some about Skate Canada by the weekend at least, so I can get a little caught up.
So we had a nice Thanksgiving. We went out of town, to my brother's home in Bonney Lake, Washington (4o miles from Seattle), mostly because my husband didn't feel like hosting and cooking this year. The last couple of years, since we've been here in Moscow, he's fried his turkeys, so we had a conventional roasted turkey this year.
Fried turkey is quite good, probably the best turkey I've ever had. It's not greasy at all, like you'd think. One of the most funny things I've seen, though, is my husband standing out in the snow in our backyard, dumping the turkey in the hot oil and watching the steam pour out. No fires, thank God, even after three years of this cooking method.
Kinda like this:

Okay, so I put Martha Stewart on my blog. I was looking for a picture of someone frying a turkey in the snow, but I couldn't find one. I will go to Confession Saturday night.
Speaking of snow, there's plenty of it here in the northwest. It took us an extra hour to drive to my brother's last week, due to an accident on the Cascades. Fortunately, we missed the worst of it, since we were only gone Thursday and Friday. And man, is it cold! Yesterday, we were in the single digits; today we're a little warmer, in the 20s. Brr!!
But it's awfully pretty. And I'm thankful for my wonderful husband, in spite of all the complaints I make about him, has provided me with a safe automobile. And he's shoveling snow as we speak, in spite of being on vacation!
