Update

I spoke with my dad on the phone tonight, and he's doing well. He's recovering from his surgery, but feels good. The good news is that he has quit smoking (13 days!). I'm thankful for the prayers that have gone up for his behalf.

In other family news, my younger sister Michelle tells me that the restaurant her husband has opened in Kernville, CA , the Kern River Brewing Company, is doing well. My brother-in-law, Kyle Smith, used to be a fire fighter (like the brave guys who died in the Riverside fire), so we'll all happy he's safely brewin' beer.
