Mao Asada - Skate America Short Program

Mao is just so pretty. I captured some of Peggy Fleming and Dick Button’s quotes about her, because they do a perfect job at describing what I feel anytime I watch her. I can understand why she’s so popular in Japan.

Peggy calls Mao “an exquisite artist on the ice.” Peggy also says: “She just takes my breath away; she became that music…You can just relax and watch.”

Dick Button: “She is so friendly to the ice. You just never hear her skates move; it’s all quiet. She takes her own time and creates and fills that empty space. I must say, I think she’s a marvelously wonderful skater, and one of the best that I’ve seen in many years.”
