I have something very exciting to report. I was contacted by e-mail this week by Ron Porter, a retired football player who is working on creating a webpage for Emily Hughes. Ron played at the University of Idaho, here in my beloved Moscow, and then was in the NFL in the late 60s and early 70s, playing for the Colts as a linebacker. He and his wife now live in Florida, and know the Hughes family. He has offered me a "position" on the webpage team writing articles for it. How cool is that!
We're supposed to speak on the phone some time this weekend, so I'll have more to report later. Ron saw my blog and liked my "positive tone." As I told him, he must have seen my blog before he read what I've written about Johnny Weir! Ron also doesn't care that I'm not an athlete, and that I've never skated a day in my life. Like I said, I'm very excited.
