POTUS Tie

Monday there was a story on Fox's "Special Report." Because I feel that I have to explain why I watch that show, my husband watches it nightly and I catch bits of it from time to time. They showed a picture of President Bush and a picture of Tony Snow wearing the same tie. Brit Hume explained that during Bush's interview with Bill O'Reilly, it became apparent that the tie Bush was wearing wouldn't work on camera, so Snow lent him his tie.

Of course, being the TV-freak that I am, I turned to my husband and commented, "How very West Wing of them." I remembered that there was a "West Wing" episode where someone gave Bartlett a tie. I went on a search, and sure enough, there was. It was during the sixth season episode, "Game On," which centered on Bartlett's second-campaign debate. A lot of discussion was spent on choosing the perfect tie for the debate, and three seconds before he was due to go on stage, the First Lady took out some scissors and snipped Barlett's tie. After a scramble, Josh Lyman gets "elected" to give up his tie for the President.
