TV:
My husband and I like to watch our shows together. We also have shows we watch individually; for example, he's into televised poker and I like soaps. Last night, because we were both tired, we only watched Tuesday night's "Jeopardy" (a nightly thing) and "Shark."
"Shark" is an enjoyable show, I think. Of course, one of the big attractions is James Wood, who is the kind of actor you'd want to watch walk into a room. That's probably why he's in practically every scene. As a result, the supporting cast is one of the weakest parts of the show. They need to work on that aspect, before they end up killing Wood. "Shark" is one of the shows this season that's been influenced by "House" (another of my favorites), with the persnickity, seemingly unsympathetic character as the main protagonist. Fortunately, Wood, like Hugh Laurie, can pull it off, and he doesn't even have to change his accent.
In the episode we watched last night (10/5), Stark almost had to break down a little boy on the witness stand, but was stopped by the boy's father, who was on trial for his wife's diappearance. At the end of the episode, the character played by Jeri Ryan asks him if he was planning to actually go through with it. Stark never answered her question; I'm not sure he even knew the answer. I like that about this show: instead of answering, the audience is left wondering if the guy's that much of a shark. I like what Stark says to the doctor who tried to cover up the surgeon's blindness: "If you're wondering why people hate doctors so much, look in the mirror." A statement coming from a guy in a profession people hate even more than doctors.
On my own, I watched "NYPD Blue," Kim Delaney's final episode. I also saw this week's episode of "Iron Chef America." I'm addicted to Food Network, and I just love that show. I'll discuss those shows more in depth at a later time.
At the gym, I listened to some of my Wings CD. (CD #2 of "Wingspan." "Maybe I'm Amazed" is such a great song.) While working on my notes for work in the afternoon, I listened to some Mozart and Bach on Napster. What a great thing Napster is. Also on my list of things to discuss.
